Colorado State Women’s Triathlon sweeps podium!

By USA Triathlon

TEMPE, Arizona — Colorado State University’s Hayley Belles, Meghan Smith and Katrina Lems earned the first podium sweep in USA Triathlon Collegiate Club National Championships history on Saturday afternoon in Tempe, Arizona. The Rams dominated the women’s Olympic-distance race, while Queens University of Charlotte was unstoppable in the men’s race, led by individual champion Jack Felix.

About 1,200 collegiate athletes from more than 100 club teams competed in the marquee event of Collegiate Club Nationals weekend. The Olympic-distance course was centered at Tempe Beach Park and featured a 1,500-meter swim, 41-kilometer bike and 10-kilometer run.

Rachel Zilinskas of the University of Minnesota had the top women’s swim of the day, exiting the water in 19 minutes, 2 seconds. The University of Florida’s Nicole Stafford was not far behind though, overtaking the Minnesota athlete in transition.

2017 TriBella Women’s Triathlon:

The TriBella Women’s Triathlon is the perfect all women’s triathlon for first time triathletes looking to try the sport out, or seasoned veterans looking for a fun season opener to compete alongside friends and family! We’ll be offering two distances; the traditional sprint distance (1/2m Swim, 10m Bike, 3.1m Run), plus a super sprint distance (/14m Swim, 8m Bike, 2m Run).  Women’s cut technical t-shirts, great goodie bags, one of our biggest expos of the year, a ton of raffles are just some of the highlights.  This race is capped at 450 athletes to maintain a fun, yet lively, and laid back feel.

Due to the low cap we expect to be sold out by Mid May!  This race will be held at the Smoky Hill Beach (East Side) of Cherry Creek Reservoir!

A note from Kebby at Coeur:

Hi everyone!  It’s Kebby Holden, Founder and Designer at Coeur Sports. We’re honored to once again come onboard as a sponsor of the TriBella women’s triathlon produced by the great team at Without Limits.
At Coeur, we have a two part mission.  First, we go out of our way to make women’s endurance sports apparel that is both beautiful and beautifully functional. We’re confident that you won’t find better performing or higher quality women’s sports clothing in the market at any price and we encourage you to check out our 2017 line at TriBella or online at www.coeursports.com.
Second, we want to encourage women to live lifestyles of health and fitness. To that end, we hope that you will invite friends and family to join you for a swim, bike, or run as you prepare for this great event. We know from personal experience how being involved in endurance sports can change lives for the better and we hope you’ll be the catalyst for someone else to start their journey to fitness.
Good luck with your training and we look forward to cheering for you on race day!
