Eagle
The 11th Annual LG TRI in the beautiful Vail Valley mountain town of Eagle, CO will be held on Saturday, July 6th, 2019.
The LG Sprint TRI begins at 7am. It is a 500-yard swim(10 laps) in the outdoor Eagle Pool followed by a 12-mile bike loop from the pool, up Brush Creek Road, to Adams Rib. The third leg features a run from the pool down the bike path to Eagle Ranch Road, connecting to the Eagle Ranch bike path, and back to the Eagle pool for the finish. This is a great course for first-timers and seasoned pros alike.
The 7th Annual LG Kids TRI is scheduled to begin at 10am. Please arrive early as parking may be difficult due to the LG TRI event that starts at 7:00 a.m.
The LG Kids TRI will be divided into three age groups:
*6 to 7 year olds – 25 yd swim (0.5 lap), 1 mile bike, 1/2 mile run
*8 to 10 year olds – 50 yd swim (1 lap), 3.2 mile bike, 3/4 mile run
*11 to 13 year olds – 100 yd swim (2 laps), 5 mile bike, 1 mile run

SWIM in the Cortez outdoor pool in the morning sun on the 4th of July. Then HOP on your bike and RIDE north of Cortez along paved rolling County Roads enjoying cattle and farming country. Wrapping up your race with gentle hills, RUN through city natural and groomed parks and pathways.
The Cortez Burst Triathlon is a fundraiser for the Friends of Recreation Group in Cortez, Colorado. The Friends of Recreation raises money for scholarships to the Cortez Recreation Center for those who would otherwise not be able to afford the fees. The initial fund raising project was the “Stones for Scholarship” where by individuals and businesses purchased inscribed stones set around the flagpole in front of the Recreation Center. The Friends of Recreation is a Scholarship Fund under Onward! A Legacy Foundation, the community foundation for the four corners.

Come for a day of fun, food prizes and sports. This annual youth triathlon is for young athletes ages 5 to 14.
From kids who have never even heard of a triathlon to seasoned competitive triathletes, Tri the Rock encourages kids to get out and give it a TRI.

Three epic races to choose from, all for the single-track trail enthusiast. And for our rising athletes, we have the exciting Dusty Kids Gravel Growler. This fun race will give your budding star a taste of the duathlon excitement!
Proceeds benefit the Archuleta County Victim Assistance Program, a non-profit organization supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crime since 1996. Your entry fee will help ACVAP pay for their 24-hour hotline or counseling for a victim or child who have been abused. It will help a family relocate to a safer home or help a victim file for a protection order. ACVAP is an all-inclusive agency, providing comprehensive and reliable victim support services 24-hours a day. Get dirty and be a part of ending the violence in Archuleta County.

This event is held in memory of our friend, Laura Genelin, who passed away in July of 2008 from colon cancer. Laura loved participating in triathlons. To keep her passion alive, we chose to hold one annually in her hometown of Eagle, Colorado.
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Vail Valley Charitable Fund, helping locals like Laura in medical crisis since 1996. To learn more about our nonprofit, visit www.vvcf.org.

Tri the Rock encourages kids to get active and try something new. To that end, a portion of every registration is donated back to each participants school or tri-club. Be sure to indicate your school or club during registration. And remember, the school with the most participants will get the honor of displaying the Tri the Rock trophy for the next year!

Alon Mandel is attempting to swim something that less 100 humans have ever done. He is going to swim between the North and South islands of New Zealand forging the heavy currents of the Cook Straight. It’s about 14 miles of treacherous waters but the Olympic Swimmer from Israel has swam the Ocean’s Seven Strait-of-Gibraltar in September 2015, swimming from Spain to Morocco. With All-American awards, as a University of Michigan swimmer and teammate of Michael Phelps, Alon has many moments to draw upon for that fortitude and strength to attempt this swim.
