Kona Swim Recap

This morning’s Ko’ala Training Swim on the Ironman World Championship ocean course was the first official event on the Kona schedule. The event offered a great opportunity for athletes – and friends and family – to swim the full distance, with a mass start, timing chip, and water support. It was a real treat to swim shoulder-to-shoulder alongside world champions – both pros and age groupers. The event was extremely well-run, well-attended, and carried a festive, friendly atmosphere. Of course, Boulder’s Dave Christen certainly helped with the “friendly” aspect! Check out some casual pictures we captured:
