COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Triathlon Board of Directors President Barry Siff was recently re-elected to the International Triathlon Union (ITU) Executive Board following a vote by member National Federations at the ITU Congress in Madrid, Spain.
All ITU Executive Board term lengths run parallel with the Olympic quadrennial, so Siff and the other Executive Board member seats will be up for re-election in 2020.
“I am very grateful to the National Federations around the world who supported my candidacy. It is a huge honor and privilege to continue my position on the ITU Executive Board, alongside such great international leaders and under the tremendous leadership of our President, Marisol Casado,” Siff said. “The spirit and culture of triathlon is deep within my soul and I will endeavor to do everything I can to help in achieving ITU’s mission of growing triathlon globally while setting international standards of excellence in the sport.”
In addition to the Board positions, National Federations voted on several ITU Committee positions. The following U.S. representatives were elected:
Susan Haag, Women’s Committee
Dr. Doug Hiller, Medical & Anti-Doping Committee

Jon Beeson, Paratriathlon Committee
Tim Yount, Multisport Committee
Andy Schmitz, Coaches’ Committee
“I am extremely proud and happy for the other dedicated USA Triathlon volunteers who will have a major impact on our sport through their respective Committees,” Siff said.
