IRONMAN announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Lagardère Sports’ endurance division, which includes races in three continents and eight countries. IRONMAN will therefore own and/or operate an additional five International Triathlon Union (ITU) events, four marathons, six cycling races as well as a number of other participation events. . .

The word is out – The longstanding and iconic Harvest Moon Tri (established in 2000) might be displaced, but it is as alive as ever. Race Directors from across the country converged at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs on January 15-17, 2016 for a three day symposium designed to educate, motivate and inspire us to a bright and successful 2016 racing season. A colorful variety of speeches, workshops, presentations, social events and physical challenges ensured that everyone went home enriched and happy. This event was jam-packed full of positive, useful information without being overwhelming – a perfect balance of work and play. If it had to be described in one word – that word is rejuvenating!
The USA Triathlon Board of Directors elected four of its members to officer seats at the first board meeting of 2016, held on Jan. 16 in conjunction with the USA Triathlon Race Director Symposium weekend.
