With only 30 seconds separating first and second place, and third place only a few strides behind them, Amy Cragg, Desiree Linden, and Shalane Flanagan will represent the United States in Rio at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
I’ve had significant aches and pains creep into my body in the past year that I will not attribute to age.
I will be running the Boston Marathon in April and racing the Boulder 70.3 in June. I want to be able to stay healthy and train to my best ability for both of these events.
I have been able to work with Dane DeLozier at Revo PhysioTherapy. I’ve now had a Revo Physio Therapy and Sports PerformanceFunctional Movement Analysis and a TM Gait Analysis. For me they have been eye opening and beneficial sessions.
Glad to say, I’m making positive progress.
As Colleen De Reuck and Joanna Zeiger joke and chat on the infield of the Fairview High School track on a recent Saturday morning, a couple of visitors could only stand with mouth agape, listening to the accomplishments of the pair of all-time great female athletes.
Such is the import and impact of these two modest, self-effacing women, who along with Colorado Racing Club teammate Shawna McClain, are competing in Saturday’s U.S. Olympic trials marathon in Los Angeles.
They are among the roughly 30 local qualifiers in the men’s and women’s marathons, vying for a top three finish that will earn them a spot on Team USA that will compete in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
